So. If anyone has paid any attention at all to the time/date stamps on my previous posts, I’ve obviously been MIA for a long time. Like…three years of a long time. Nothing super dramatic happened, but I figured if anyone actually read my posts from three years ago, and was still by some miracle following me, I owed them an explanation (and pretty much all of the cookies, because that’s a long amount of time to follow someone with zero posts, honestly. That’s some dedication right there.).
Well, three years ago, I was freshly graduated with my degree in Forensic Science, no real job prospects on the horizon despite the hundreds of applications I’d put out, and I had a lot of spare time on my hands (or so I thought) and I decided that a fun way to use that newfound time would be to do what I loved best…read books and write about them to other people who love to read.
I made it through about four posts *insert eye roll* before life happened. I got a promotion at the job I’d worked at through college going to full time, my boyfriend and I moved into a townhouse of our own together (we’d been living together for a few years, but with a roommate), we got a cat, and, a few months later, I got my first ever job interview for a real job!
Three weeks after my interview, we had broken our lease, packed up our belongings and our pets, and moved across the country on pretty much faith alone. We had yet to find a place to live, the boyfriend didn’t have a job lined up in the new state, and was still trying to finish his own degree online, and we didn’t know a single person where we were going.
And now, three years later, we’re settled, moving up the ladder at our respective workplaces, and the boyfriend who quit his fantastic job and moved across the country with me on three weeks’ notice so I could be happy and use my degree has become my husband. And we adopted a second doggo!
All of this to say, I have free time again. Now that the craziness of the move and two years worth of wedding planning is finished, I’m once again at a place in my life where I feel like I can devote some of it to doing what I love. And I’m so incredibly excited about that!!!
Expect some new posts to come in the near future…I definitely want to get back into the blogging world and I seriously can’t wait to dive in. I’ve already begun reading an ARC I was generously sent called Cupid’s Match by Lauren Palphreyman, so a review of that will be coming in the near future.
Thanks so much for finding my blog, and I hope you’ll be back to read more of posts soon!
